Budapest Coffee Guide | European Coffee Trip

Hello guys, it is European Coffee Trip! And in this video we will take you to Budapest And with our editor Karolina we will show you 9 great cafes to visit in the city. Let’s start with number one. Cafe number one is Espresso Embassy. Espresso Embassy run by Tibor Varady is one of the most internationally known cafes in the city. Behind the bar, team of Hungarian barista champions, Takes care of Victoria Arduino Black Eagle espresso machine. Coffee comes from Budapest’s micro roastery Casino Mocca. You can taste espresso from two different origins or go for hand brewed options. Cafe number two is Fekete! Fekete means black in Hungrian So we knew straight away what we are going to order. What started as a small espresso bar few years ago Turned into the full size cafe after it absorbed the inner yard close to the busy Museum Street. If you fancy something to eat – a vegan chef prepares plant-based snacks and fresh juices. Cafe number three is Budapest Baristas! Our next stop was almost next door to Fekete. Budapest Baristas feels quite spacious. Couple of tables and a window seat downstairs And little tables with chairs at the gallery above the bar. No doubts you will find a good spot for your coffee break. The cafe is supplied by Casino Mocca, but at the time of our visit It was also the first week they tried Coffee Collective. We were tasting a pour over of an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Cafe number four is Tamp & Pull! Tamp & Pull was established in 2012 by four times Barista Champion of Hungary, Atilla Molnar. As they work closely with Has Bean from the UK, They even created a custom coffee blend called Hungarian Revolution. We tasted signature drink called “Peach, please” An Ethiopian espresso combined with CO2 foam of peach juice. It was really delicious. Cafe number five is Double Shot! Double Shot is located just down the street from the Parliament building. As the name suggests your espresso will be served as doubleshot. We tasted the one coming from Costa Rica, roasted by The Roasting Party in the UK.

It was prepared by the owner, Tomi, who actually built this cafe from scratch. If you like DIY projects, you will find tons of inspiration inside of this cozy cafe! Cafe number six is Madal! Right now, we are in front of Madal Coffee in Budapest Let’s check it out! Good coffee and good karma. This is what Madal is all about. And it reflects a fusion of interests of the founder, Peter Repka. Madal is located at a lower-basement space, with a big, front window that leads into the large outside area. This cafe is also home of Beyond Within roastery So we tried single origin, espresso – Kenyan Marimira – and summer signature drink called Blood Orange Nirvana. Cafe number seven is Kelet! If you want to eat during your coffee tour, definitely go to Kelet. During our first visit, it was the only speciality cafe at Buda side. That has changed but this spacious cafe still offer many reasons to come, Besides the great food and shelves full of books also the Third Wave Ibrik Coffee. Kelet could be your living room! We’re leaving Kelet – checked – and we are going to the next cafe! Cafe number eight is Spéci Espresso Bar! Located just five minutes from Kelet, Spéci is an espresso bar, known for its tasty brews of Square Mile beans. We tasted Costa Rican coffee prepared with V60. The space itself has got a pattern of coffee brewing in its design. V60 cones used as lamp shades and bialetti brewers filled with sugar. This all decorates this specialty coffee corner. Cafe number nine is Kaffeine! A description of Kaffeine could start with: “Once upon a time…” Looking almost like a king’s lounge, Nearly every customer has got a spot to watch the baristas working behind the Black Eagle espresso machine. We tasted the delicious Guatemalan espresso. Smooth, balanced, with a long, sweet finish. So this was our list. Hope you liked it!
